Even the mainstream press agrees with my analysis of the current condition of Today’s Music.  Check out this look at the Billboard Top 10 from The New York Post:

Too bad nothing is said about the lack of morality.  It’s considered a joke, but the real problem with most of these songs is that they’re all about sin.

  1. Amen. The reason music is declining is that these songs promote sin; I totally agree. “Buy U a Drank” and “Makes Me Wonder” are cases in point. The former deals with an unwed worldly couple getting drunk and having a one-night stand. Then, the musically awesome Maroon 5 hit unashamedly belts out “Struggle to memorize / The way it felt between your thighs / The pleasure that made you cry”–and, to top it all off, they use g*****m once and f*** three times! Even in the edit, you can still hear the “f” bombs! Just help me with this: Why do the best musical pieces tarnish morality and promote sin and end up getting on the top 10 lists on iTunes and Napster? We need more songs like “Time After Time” as performed by Quietdrive–freakin’ awesome and totally clean.

  2. Bro, thanks for telling me about Quietdrive. I checked it out- totally awesome remake of the Cyndi Lauper classic.
