U2

Today after a nice jog, we listened to a list by the great U2.  I pointed out how integral the drums are to the songs, and that the drummer Larry Mullen, Jr. is not just playing basic rhythms, but really has interesting accents and flourishes that add a lot to already great songs.  We also pondered the reasons for Bono and The Edge’s interesting stage names.

The list:

Until The End Of The World
Beautiful Day
Walk On
Pride (In The Name Of Love)
I Will Follow
Vertigo
With Or Without You
Helter Skelter
When Love Comes To Town
Sunday Bloody Sunday
40
New Year’s Day
Lemon
Where The Streets Have No Namen
I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For
With Or Without You
Bullet The Blue Sky
