About this blog
Hello! I’m Rob, a 39 year old dad and music fan.
This blog used to be about current music. As a Christian, but also a fan of “Secular” (not Christian) music, I thought it would be fun to analyze current music- the lyrics, the potential implications of the lyrics, and the music quality itself. You can see those posts in the archives of this blog.
I got quickly tired of defending myself and being considered judgmental. So I took a break.
I had an idea to start documenting the morning musical education I was giving my kids on weekdays. So that is what this blog currently attempts to do.
I have 4 kids- 1 daughter, “E” (12 years old), 3 sons- “D” (9 years), “Big J” (7 years), “Little J” (3 years). I use their abbreviations because I’d like for them to have their own online life one day. My wife is known as “K” on this here blog- we’ve been married for 13 years!
Our usual weekday ritual during daylight savings time is to get up around 7am, go to the big park across the street from 7:30am-8:30am, come home and stretch out while one of makes breakfast, and eat until 9am.
During the stretching and eating, I’ll play a bunch of songs from a random artist and discuss a bit of that artist’s history and a bit about some of the songs.
I cut my teeth on 80′s pop and hair metal, and moved to grunge and alternative music styles in the late 80′s and 90′s. I also like classic rock and rap.
